Knock, Knock...Rev 3:20

Rev 3:20
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

When I was younger, I was told that Rev 3:20 was Jesus speaking to non-believers, to invite Him as their Saviour.

However, lately as I was reading "Destined To Reign" written by Pastor Joseph Prince, I was shown that Jesus was not speaking to the non-believers but to the church of the Laodiceans (Rev 3:14)!

Then the question now is: why is Jesus saying this to the church? It's because Jesus was outside the lives of folks in this church!

So I asked the Lord, "How can this happen?"

And He answered gently, "My son, this happened when many heard not from Me, and even when they did, they did not accept!"

Not relenting, I asked further, "How could one be attending a church and not hear from You?"

Again, the Lord smiled and answered,"This happened when the person on the pulpit did not expound on Me! When the focus was on how can the people reach Me than Who Am I, what have I done and the blessings from My finished work."

And He continued, "Even when some heard Me, they could not believe that the work is completely Mine and I have completely and perfectly finished over two thousand years ago. They tried to help Me complete My work (and the Lord chuckled) by their good works, and as they were busy doing so, their worries and fear generated noises that blocked off My voice."

So I asked the Lord, "So what can I do to help?" (and immediately I realised how easy it is for us to be 'work' focus!)

The sweet Lord laughed, "Help? All that I would ask from you is rest in My finished work, let Me come in to you and dine with you, and you with Me! And the people around you will can't help but notice Me in your life testified by the fruits of blessing that I have brought to you."

Brethrens, if you were tired and weary in your earnest effort to find rest in your spirit and soul, I have a good news to share - YOU ALREADY HAVE THIS PERFECT REST IN YOU! Believe it and let the sweet Lord c
ome in to you and dine with you, and you with Him, AMEN!
