Thank You...Gen 22:16-17

Many a times, we use a phrase such as "pray hard" when we encounter challenges and approaches God for help. The tone of this is as if we need to persuade God, by our earnest prayer, to extend His arms to help us. But there is nothing further from the truth!

The truth is that God the Father has long been persuaded by His love for us to help us, demonstrated in His covenant established with Jesus representing us through the cross. It is us, who need to be persuaded of this truth!

That's why in several occasions, God swears in the Scripture! Imagine, the almighty God, who can't lie, has to swear that He won't go back on His promises to blessed us (Gen 22:16-17).

Gen 22:16 and said: "By Myself I have sworn, says the LORD, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son

Gen 22:17 "blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies.

Gen 22:16 - 17 is a promise to Abraham, and we being the seed of Abraham, because we are in Christ the Seed of Abraham (Gal 3:16), we can claim and thank God for this promise!

Gal 3:16 Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, "And to seeds," as of many, but as of one, "And to your Seed,"who is Christ.

Brethen, let us therefore be bold as a lion, in our prayers, thank God for Jesus, His finished work, and the blessings bought by His blood.

This will truly please God, for it is said in the Scripture that "Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him" (Isa 53:10), Him here been Christ, so that we can enjoy His redemptive blessings, AMEN!
