Pleasing God...Hbr 11:6

Hbr 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Every religions of the world place great important on pleasing of gods or beings that were thought to have the power to bestow good blessings on their worshipers' lives. This is important because 'displeased' gods would cause or allow harms and calamities to those who fail to please their gods. Pleasing of gods in these cases would typically involve performance of certain rituals and/or deeds, the focus is on our 'doing'.

However, Christianity is not a religion but relationship between man and God. It's about believe and trust. What we believe about God forms our opinions about God that underlines how we relate to God.

In Christ, we are called the sons of God. We are expected to boldly come into His presence and address Him as 'Abba' (or daddy in English) without any fear. He is most pleased when we have the good opinion toward His power and His will, because such good opinion is the fruit of our predestination (Rom 8:29) to be conformed to the image of His Son. Jesus is always having good opinion about His Father, for He knows the Father.

God's will for us has got nothing to do with how much we love or please God, but how much He love us! Surprised? The Scriptures says in Isa 53:10 that it please God to bruise Jesus for us! Why? If you need to ask, is because God love us so much that it even pleased God to sacrifice His only begotten Son.

My friend, our faith, therefore is on the love and faithfulness of God to the perfect redemptive work of Jesus Christ. Let's fight the good fight of faith to stay with this singularity of focus on the love and faithfulness of God, to remain in His Rest, AMEN.
