While doctrines are useful in amplifying the Bible when they are inspired by the Holy Spirit, many have been focusing on the 'how's to approach God rather than helping the brethren seeing the person of Christ!
The first time that the word 'doctrine' was mentioned was in Deu 32:2,
My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distill as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass |
Moses was speaking to the children of Israel, as a prophet of God. While this was spoken before Christ and carries warning from Moses on judgment for iniquities for Israelites, today we can apply this to claim God's teaching through the Holy Spirit and His words about the nourishment of our soul.
God is no longer judging us based on what we do, but rather blessing us based on the finished work of Christ, in the most tender loving way, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass. What a beautiful and vivid picture of God's tender love, even His blessing, signified here by the 'rain', come in the right portion that will not cause any harm to us, so that we shall have good success (Jos 1:8). When God says 'good success', I truly believe He means in every expects!
So what's the 'doctrine' here? The 'doctrine' here refers to the teaching about the person of Christ Jesus! In fact, the whole Bible is about Christ,
And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. |
Brethrens, repent! Turn away from focusing of 'how's to please God, to seeking earnestly the revelation of the person of Jesus and the Father's love for us, AMEN!
