Water Baptism...Mat 28:19

Mat 28:19
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

For the longest time, though I had been baptized by water and in the Holy Ghost, I had not have a good understanding of water baptism until recently when I was reading a book on John G. Lake's teachings the the Holy Spirit opened my eyes on the deeper meaning of water baptism.

In Mat 28:19, when Jesus told the disciples to baptize in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, He was speaking of two baptisms, one baptism by water and the other baptism of the Holy Spirit.

I had all the while been taught that baptism by water, where a Christian is immersed into water and then rose out of water, typifies the death of our former selves and sins with and in Christ, and rise as a new man in Christ. While this interpretation is well and good, it's only half the good news.

When a Christian submit him/her-self to water baptism by full immersion, during the brief moment when his/her whole being is in the water, his/her consciousness is overwhelmed by water. This is symbolic of our submission to the full consciousness of the life and power of the triun God, touching and embracing every expects of our being, not a detail missed.

When a Christian rose from the water, just like Jesus a little more than two thousand years ago, God is well pleased. Furthermore, just like Jesus after His resurrection after conquering death and ascend to His throne in heaven as the King-Man sitting next to the Father, we rose from water as the victorious king-man, co-ruling the creation with Christ, our beloved Elder Brother.

Therefore, brethren, water baptism is the public declaration of your kingship. You are a king of peace, like Solomon, for our heavenly David had done the conquering (1 Ki 8:20). Just like Solomon after David, our kingship is the golden era founded upon the great peace of Christ, and our temples of worship (our physical bodies) would be more magnificent and glorious than the temple built by Solomon.

Arise, therefore, O kings! Arise to the calling of your God, and take up the kingship long lost but restored through the blood of Christ, AMEN.
